PAKISTAN vs ENGLAND TEST SERIES
Pakistan entered the 2005/06 season with a highly anticipated series against newly-crowned Ashes winners England. With an in-form skipper and a rejuvenated Shoaib Akhtar, this incredible series matched the billing.
1st Test, Multan. Pakistan 1-0 England.
Pakistan were on the ropes after 193 from Marcus Trescothick left them 144 runs adrift after the first innings. However, an excellent 122 from Salman Butt in Pakistan’s second innings gave them hope and England a target of 198 to win. However, Pakistan were inspired on the final day and, against the odds, they won an incredible Test by 22 runs.
2nd Test, Faisalabad. Pakistan 1-0 England.
Hail the Inzamam-ul-Haq show as another pulsating Test match headed down to the final day. Inzamam’s two centuries left England chasing an impossible 285 runs. Enter Akhtar and Naved-ul-Hasan, who roared in to leave England reeling at 20 for 4 before England’s middle order held on for the draw.
3rd Test, Lahore. Pakistan 2-0 England.
England managed just 288 before the Pakistan batsmen took charge. A faultless 223 from Mohammad Yousuf and 154 from Kamran Akmal powered Pakistan to 636 for 8 declared on day four. This time, Pakistan’s attack would make no mistake and once Bell (92) and Collingwood (80) fell so did England’s hopes and Pakistan wrapped up the series, 2-0.
PAKISTAN vs ENGLAND ONE DAY SERIES
Following their comprehensive Test series win, Pakistan were out to assert their superiority in the one-day game.
1st ODI – Gaddafi Stadium. PAKISTAN 0-1 ENGLAND.

3rd ODI – Karachi. PAKISTAN 2-1 ENGLAND.

4th ODI – Rawalpindi. PAKISTAN 3-1 ENGLAND.

5th ODI – Rawalpindi. PAKISTAN 3-2 ENGLAND.
